From Medicine to Venice: A Journey of Passion
Hello and welcome!
My name is Alessia, and I am a tour leader in Venice’s historic center, specializing in authentic bacaro tours. But my journey here is not a conventional one.
For over ten years, I dedicated my life to studying medicine. It was a path driven by discipline, curiosity, and the desire to understand people. Yet, along the way, I realized that my true passion was not only about caring for others in a clinical setting—it was about connecting with them, sharing experiences, and telling stories.
That realization brought me back to what I truly love: Venice.
Today, I guide visitors through the city’s hidden corners and traditional bacari, where locals gather to enjoy a glass of wine (ombra) and delicious cicchetti. My tours are not just about food—they are about human connection, culture, and the beauty of slowing down and experiencing Venice like a local.
My background in medicine has shaped the way I work: I pay attention to people, I listen, and I create a welcoming, thoughtful experience for every guest. Each tour is designed to be relaxed, engaging, and authentic.
Choosing this path was a bold change—but it was the right one. Now, I have the privilege of sharing my passion for Venice every day with travelers from all over the world.
